Michael W. Dean and Neema Vedadi read and discuss some poison-pen crap against Michael and against liberty written by some true-believer San Francisco liberals who are having a mid-life crisis. Then M and N read excerpts from the anti-libertarian hit-piece “Top-Ten Jobs in a Libertarian Paradise” and debunk it item by item. They hope that the government WILL shut down, they talk about why the state-worshiping left and the right think libertarians are crazier than they think the left and right are, how to reduce the carbon emissions of public schools by tearing them down and planting trees, and how to find and make a free state whether it’s in New Hampshire, Wyoming, or just in your own home. They give tips on how to block bad people from your life online and off – to increase the amount of liberty in your life. They discuss the First Amendment, the KGB, secular-humanist sharia, and what things would REALLY be like in a libertarian paradise, and tell you how we can get there from here.

I remember the last time the government “shut down”. I didn’t even notice the difference. But I love the way the media and the politicians make out like the government shutting down is the end of civilization as we know it.
As if ending civilization as we know it would be a bad thing.
Damn… I wish I had haters. I’m jealous.
Unicorn farts! Hell yes!
Both the left and the right play by the “if you are not with us you are against us” rules. I think that is part of why they can’t grasp that some people don’t want to be part of the game. It’s the sheeple need to belong, follow and be told what to think. There goes my cynicism again…
Regarding how the courts would work in a libertarian paradise – have you read The Law of the Somalis: A Stable Foundation for Economic Development in the Horn of Africa? If not check it out. Some very interesting ideas there.
Your responses to this silly blog post are fantastic.
You briefly touched on the question of why can’t libertarians have a place of their own. I think much of it is because of the threat such a territory would be to the economy of the United States. Imagine an area where there was total unregulated access to drugs, medication, medical treatment, gambling & health care, the ability to openly exchange money for sex, no regulations or laws regarding sexual behaviour with other consenting adults, no regulations on medical and scientific research, few regulations on business, the ability to start a business without permission from the government, the ability to get married without permission from the government and everyone carries a side-arm. The amount of money that would flow into that territory from the U.S. would likely cripple the U.S. economy.
And I need J-Tizzle’s email & phone number.
Great job guys, I couldn’t stop listening to these today. I really enjoy the entire feel of the show. It’s entertaining, positive, and the two of you bring a unique perspective, that I haven’t heard from a lot of the other liberty oriented podcasts.
I’d love to interview Boston, and you, and a few others. I thought about bringing my little field recorder to the Jam, but I think it would be more fun to just be a participant than a participant / recorder.

Thank you Paul, that means a lot to me. You were one of a handful of people who helped me end up here.
“Freedom should be fun” – I like that. Might even be a better tagline for the podcast than “Because there’s no such thing as half-free.”
MWD
Great job, guys! Freedom should be fun, eh? Thanks for not hating the haters; lots better to joke about it. Say, why not interview Boston on your podcast? He’s always interesting to listen to.
BTW Vin Suprinowicz’ solution for schools is “Raze them to the ground so that not one stone is left standing on another, and sow the ground with salt.” You will recognize the Roman solution to Carthage…
I like it…look forward to more!
Michigan Escapee – I’m not any kind of expert on guns to offer a full hour of opinions each week. I have what I have, know what I like, and that’s it. If we did gun reviews, the hater comments would probably be all ones I agreed with!
“I’m not a gun nut, I’m a LIBERTY nut.” (Boston T. Party – who could do a great cast of reviewing guns, but probably wouldn’t.)
Jeff, I think you’re our target audience: someone who yearns for freedom but isn’t into the dry lecturing that’s pretty common in libertarian media.
For what it’s worth, we aren’t into political parties either. We are not even members of the Libertarian Party, though we do respect ‘em.
MWD
Mike,
I really enjoyed your Pod cast and I hope you have many more coming.
As I said before, I’m not really into Political Parties, but my stand is anti-federlism and has been since my long haired hippie days and I hope someday we can stop playing with Donkeys and Elephants and just be our own people.
Your haters are kinda funny, but they lack true dedication. If you want
really dedicated haters you need something to draw them in, like gun
or knife reviews. Just look at Nutnfancy, the google results for his haters
are just about endless. Pretty good for a couple of rambling youtube vids every
week.
It’s also a really good excuse to burn money on new gear. Maybe a nifty little
Sako 85 in .338, a leupold scope, and various accessories. Just tell the wife you
really need the page hits, for your business, yeah thats it.
You guys produce a great show. Your personalities play well off of each other, and this keeps the show interesting and entertaining.
Oh, it certainly is.
…unless it’s fun. Which it is!
Great podcast guys. I kept waiting for a legitimate argument in all those snarky comments against Michael and libertarianism, but it was just painful noise. Hopefully, that should serve as a reminder to us on the liberty side to not engage in that same type of dialogue. In fact, I am totally guilty of doing the exact same thing to libtards, conservatards (there I go again!), and statists of all stripes. But we don’t need to ad hom anyone (unless he is a giant hypocrite) to further the cause.
