“USER’S MANUAL FOR THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE” Chapter 7 – The No-Contact Strategy

A between-episodes treat from the Freedom Feens Podcast. Chapter 7 – The No-Contact Strategy. A USER’S MANUAL FOR THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE, Audio book read by the author, Michael W. Dean.

So, what do you do if enforcing reasonable boundaries with a hard-core serenity vampire simply DOES NOT WORK? Well, if it’s someone you never want to see again, you block them for good. But if it’s someone you love, who you MIGHT want back in your life at SOME point, but now just isn’t the time, you can institute a NO-CONTACT STRATEGY. It’s only for certain types of situations (which we explain), and most be done in a specific way in order to work (ditto). The NO-CONTACT STRATEGY can save a relationship or end it for good, but it can sometimes be the ONLY thing that will help.

  1. I did not plan to comment on this, but….
Chapter seven sounded disturbingly familiar, what happened with Celeste was an awful lot closer to my relationship with my father than I would really like to admit. Though he has calmed down and can actually function in society now, just so long as nothing provokes him he continues on being the (censored) that he has been for as long as I have known him. I must admit that it has reached the point that I would rather ask a favor from Dick Cheney himself than accept any further assistance from him.
But there is hope, one way or another we will not be living under the same roof by March at the latest. And the thought of a year straight without talking to him sounds like more fun than every vacation I have ever had combined, even the ones where I got to use machine guns.

  2. I have heard that since the end of that year that things have improved with the Lady and her daughter? I hope so. :)
