Was drowsy when looking at those youtube clips and wondered why the Metallica guy was handing the lead singer of Slayer Tom Araya a guitar. Took me a second to sync up and realize that was the iraqi metal guys. ;) And that Tom Araya hasn’t looked that young for at least 12-15 years now. :D

  2. Since you mentioned the two meanings of “monopoly money”, I thought I’d link to my blog on the subject from last September.
    Great podcast as usual.

I love the name although I think I would rather have america covered in “The frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex” than have the other Santorum running it!!!

Yeah, that’s the conclusion we’ve come to. Why spend all this time and effort making the best-sounding cast in the world, then make it sound worse for the sake of DSL users who don’t want to take an extra minute to let something happen in the background while they’re doing something else.

  5. I love the great rich FM like sound…

Conversations about Iraq remind me of why there are so many government supremacists. Stop me if I have mentioned this before, but even among people who are fully aware of the violence and hypocrisy of governments. The concept is simple, a perception that in anarchy you would simply trade one big tyrant for a bunch of little ones. That was certainly hammered into my head when I was growing up in Eugene Oregon. Whenever the American civil war came up this was always given as an example.

One of the odd things about political liberalism, especially of the yuppie variety is that there should be no whoring of any variety, corporate whoring especially. Don’t know what a world without any whoring, practical, corporate or otherwise would look like, but I certainly can’t see it in my minds eye.

On the subject of medical marijuana and terminal cancer patients, I was wondering if you guys knew anything about a program in England where terminal cancer patients were given heroin and it proved to be the most effective anti cancer painkiller there is. A friend told me about it he really started giggling when he brought up the subject of people screaming “what if they get addicted to the stuff!?!” Well, who cares? these are people with a maximum estimated life span of six months, what of it?

When you mentioned the army being a gun free zone it reminded me of the fort hood shooting. When I heard of all of those soldiers being killed and wounded all I could think was, “I’m sorry, I think I had something crazy in my ear.” When I heard later that it was a civilian police officer that stopped him it struck me as utter insanity. But it seems like the organs of the state never expect a direct attack and their responses are always the way wrong thing to do.

I also wanted to mention about people suffering for their art, I think one of my issues is that I haven’t suffered for my art. Not by my standards and definitely not by the standards of an Iraqi.

Michael & Neema: Your podcasts are great, but if I may offer some unbidden advice: stop worrying so much about ultra-high sound quality. Anybody who listens to FreedomFeens listens for the content, not for high-bandwidth sound. As long as I can hear what you’re saying, that’s great. Huge files take longer to download, are more pain to copy & store etc. It’s about the ideas, as well as the entertainment value, but c’mon, your voices are not such beautiful music that we need mega-fat bandwidth high quality audio.
