  1. Temple Grandin is a great author and speaker about autism, and designed the “hug machine” mentioned in the episode. Here are a couple of her many books:

    For the poor man who can’t afford one of these hug machines, a decent substitute is to wrap yourself in a thick blanket like a taco. The easiest way I’ve found to do this for right handed people is to lie down close to one edge and wrap part of it over your legs with your right hand. Then holding the upper part of the blanket with your right hand, roll to the left while at the same time tucking your left arm under. If you do it correctly you should be wrapped snug as a rug after a complete roll!
