  1. MWDsays: “You do know, right, that the creators of CryptoNote, the CryptoNote Foundation, also run a “build your own CryptoNote” site: https://cryptonotestarter.org/

Yea man, those dudes are shady as fuck.

  2. MWDsays: “ForkNote is largely a “teaching hospital” site to help understand and spread growth of CryptoNote. Many people make a coin there that they never launch, just to learn. ”

So its a place where people who are unqualified to run a coin have their hand held through the process of starting one?

  3. That forknote.net site looks real scammy. Does your new dev run a build your own cryptonote fork site? Why do they not have Monero on the list of forks page?

    • MichaelWDean says:

Some of ForkNote is coins that have been built from his ForkNote code. It doesn’t have Monero because Monero is a whole different branch of CryptoNote that doesn’t even have the same error messages in it anymore. As FluffyPony told me “Monero is off on a whole ‘nother tree.”

The ForkNote coins are mostly clones of ByteCoin with some things changed.

ForkNote is largely a “teaching hospital” site to help understand and spread growth of CryptoNote. Many people make a coin there that they never launch, just to learn.

Monero is almost a different species, and really requires a larger dev team to keep everything in working order (they have like a dozen guys.) As far as I know there are no forks of Monero, and that is probably for this reason.

Our dev slb from ForkNote is not in it for the money either. I gave him a little Bitcoin to pay for some server space (without him asking). I recently tried to give him some more BTC and he basically said “No man, keep it for your doctor bills and for your family.”

He really is just interested in opening up more people to the potential of CryptoNote.

Yes, ForkNote is a ” build your own CryptoNote fork site”, but most people who build a coin from there can’t keep it going.

You do know, right, that the creators of CryptoNote, the CryptoNote Foundation, also run a “build your own CryptoNote” site: https://cryptonotestarter.org/

However, there are two mistakes in their “recipe” that result in a coin that produces dust for each block, like .000001 of a coin for the initial blocks, rather than 8.x per block.

That math is fixed on the ForkNote site, and of course in BipCoin.

Also, there is a really creepy public key in the original CryptoNote code and at https://cryptonotestarter.org/

Here are 67 instances of the creepy public key in various CryptoNote software on GitHub:

Monero and BipCoin are two of the few CryptoNote coins that actually found that key and removed it. Actually you can’t just remove it, that breaks everything. You also can’t zero or comment it out alone, that breaks everything. We figured out a workaround, a bunch of zeros with a “2” in the middle. lol. THAT works.

What are you talking about? Monero was forked from Bytecoin. FluffyPony was likely trying to get you to go away.

        • MichaelWDean says:

OK, didn’t realize this was blockchain jesus at first. You just don’t like anything CryptoNote. lol.

I get your point. you don’t like cryptonote, you don’t like my coin, and you don’t like me. Saying it all anymore beyond this point of your 6 comments in a row is a bit obsessive. Take care, but more of this FUD from you here or on my other sites will be sent to spam.

OH, so you mean Monero has people that are actually innovating, and doing science?

      • MWDsays: “Monero and BipCoin are two of the few CryptoNote coins that actually found that key and removed it.”

So again you did the same work Monero has already done?
