Laughing while statism collapses

Macho Libertarian Flashers Michael W. Dean and Neema Vedadi talk about why Derrick J should say “Bad touch! Bad Touch!” to cops, why statism is rampant and most citizens are violent in their heart of hearts, why libertarians are not delusional and why statists are living in an absolute fantasy world, how the president turned the sleepy town of Manchester, NH into Nazi Germany for a day, how Glenn Greenwald is one of the few liberals remaining who is anti-war and anti-violation of civil liberties, and more on krokodil and the sexy sexy ladies who are actually men.

    1. I have no idea, we mention a lot of mics. What did I say about it?

Also, if you’re thinking of buying a mic and want to hold off a few days, I’ll be trying a new inexpensive good one and talking about it, either on the Thursday live show or the Sunday Live show.

  1. Thanks for taking time to respond.

On the Apple Computer moral issue, I agree—you’re right—Apple’s ethics have turned less than savory over the years. They juice the market to a rancid pulp. I thought the FF comment was more about functionality. I sit corrected.

Mac OS X has been UNIX derived since 2002. Linux birthed sometime around 1991 after MINIX in 1987. Even before that was Steve Job’s followup to Apple: UNIX-like systems NeXT for developers in 1985. Of course I could be mistaken on some of that chronology. The list of UNIX-like systems is expansive.

Too bad for R. Stallman. He’s missing a special moment on your show. There was so much flip-flopping that I lost track. I’ll run across that audio again in the future I’m sure.

Alas, I’m finished spewing verbal diarrhea for now. Thanks again for responding. See you on the other side of the break.

    Pieces & Peace!

  2. Hi Michael,

Great ‘cast. These shows are landmarks to keep me coming back.

To add clarity to one of your last statements: I’m a long time Apple supporter (since the ’80s) and a dedicated Mac-feen. Today, Mac OS X runs on Darwin/XNU, which is similar to GNU/Linux. It supports many of the same applications in fact… Just want to express that many Mac OS X users are in the same realm as GNU/Linux users.

On that note, do you still plan to interview Richard Stallman? That may be more of an AGP-related inquiry so please excuse my offhandedness, or say the word and I will take it over to http://www.kittyfeet.com — I recall that you became bored with techies, but I remain hopeful.

Thanks; I look forward to tomorrow’s FF fix.

    Pieces and Peace!

    1. EDIT: I guess a main difference is that GNU/Linux is available for free, which is a major benefit. But, that Darwin is commercially supported may be regarded as a benefit. Either choice, give me a command line and layers of encryption, and I’ll make it purr.

      1. And while Apple is finally “ripping off” Linux, they’re suing Andriod for running Linux that looks like Apple. Apple is not “in the same realm”, morally as Linux.

Richard Stallman finally turned me down for an interview after many many e-mails back and forth. We covered that on casts a few weeks ago….the first few Curry network casts.

        Thanks!

PS – Somehow I posted to the top of the thread. Will you please delete my stupid mistake? I’m very sorry to inconvenience you, and I thank you.
