The Freedom Feens analyze the wonderful documentary Return Engagement (or as the Feens call it Murder and Acid: the Road to Now), and explain how both G. Gordon Liddy and Timothy Leary not knowing about the Non-Aggression Principle lead to Bush and Obama murdering innocent people with drones and spying on everyone. The Feens also discuss why G. Gordon Liddy is NOT a good conservative, why Frank Zappa was a good conservative, why the Parents Music Resource Center were basically JUST LIKE the Nazis, Tipper Gore’s Sugar Walls, censorship, why violence is NOT the answer, and why self-ownership is always the answer.

Can you post a link to that timothy leary quote? It is great!

I saw the original airng of Crossfire that Zappa was on. I also saw him perform live, and haven’t really seen anything that has topped that performance since then.

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.” – Frank Zappa

Heard your call in to FTL today. I think Ian handled the situation superbly, and it was resolved without any violence or serious problems. From the way you were talking, it almost sounded like you would have plugged the drunk dude? I’m not saying people shouldn’t be armed, but with great power comes great responsibility; and sometimes people legitimately get the wrong house or drunkenly mistake your room for theirs, it happens. If someone wanted to move to New Hampshire, and the Feens were there, would they be safer living next to Ian or living next door to MWD…?

I was NOT saying I’d have plugged him. I was saying I’d be holding a gun and yelling “LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE?!!”

I certainly would not be mellow and apologizing for being in my underwear in my own home.

My door is always locked even when I’m home, there’s no way someone could “accidentally be in the wrong house” without breaking in.

Several people who called after me did say they would have plugged the dude. And a couple people told stories about getting their ass kicked by strangers in their home. I don’t think they would have been out of line to take my approach. I think Ian was hella lucky.

I myself have found myself in the wrong house. I’ll tell that story on the Wednesday Feens podcast this week.

Looking forward to hearing it. I guess what scares me is the idea of people seeing vague dark shapes or someone sleeping on their lawn and then going full Rambo “shoot first and ask question later” on ’em. But yeah the underwear thing was a bit much. If I got shot I’d rather the shooter was fully clothed at the time. Worms!
