Punk rock cred for the Beef People, lol:
–You’ve never heard of it.
–We put out one record, an EP
–We played 9 shows and broke up.
–We were together less than one year.
–It was recorded at Inner Ear Studio in 1985, engineered by Don Zientara.
–Our EP was recorded and mixed in 12 hours, over two days, for 400 bucks, including tape.
–We never did a CD, only vinyl. Broke up before CDs were a thing.
–We were young pups. I was 21, the old guy in the group. The rest of them were 17 and 18.
–I was too poor to have my own gear. The amp I’m playing through at the show on the EP cover is borrowed from the headliner band, The Asexuals.
–Everyone in the Beef People “sang” backup.
–The lead singer was Straight Edge, but is now dead from liver failure from alcoholism. (Too soon? Shit….he would have thought that was funny. And it’s true.)

  1. Agree with Dianna …. Pavlov’s Dog is awesome. Lead singer sounds like a cross between Dez and Tony Cadena from the Adolescents. That’s a compliment by the way. “Industrial Jelly” is good too. I can DEFINITELY hear the Black Flag in there.
